In 2014, my sister Gabriela went on a mission trip to Cuba. At the time, she was on a journey of redemption, self-discovery, and wanting to strengthen her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She certainly had no intentions of pursuing anyone else but God and she could have never ever imagined, not even in her wildest dreams, what was about to come next. She did not predict that she would be meeting David – a shy but friendly young man with a heart of gold, a passion for music, and a deep love for God. She had no idea that her friendship with David would blossom into not only an intimate relationship but one that would have to be fought for through 800-miles of long distance. She could have never expected that she would end up eventually marrying the love of her life four years after they first met during that one mission trip to Cuba.
But that is the thing about life, isn’t it? The best things in life happened unexpectedly. We can do all we can to plan out the course of our lives but God will always have more in store for us and will always be “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20).
To my beloved “seester” and to my dear cuñado, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day. My deepest desire was to give you two something that truly represented this special day – beautiful, romantic, Godly, family/friends-oriented, and timeless. I hope I was able to accomplish that, especially since it was not easy being the Maid of Honor AND running around with a camera at the same time, lol. But for you guys, it was totally worth it. I love and miss you both every day. Enjoy.
