SALAR – Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions
The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, SALAR, is both an employers’ organisation and an organisation that represents and advocates for local government in Sweden. All of Sweden’s municipalities, county councils and regions are members of SALAR. SALAR represents and acts on their initiative. Our mission is to provide municipalities, county councils and regions with better conditions for local and regional self-government. The vision is to develop the welfare system and its services.

Stokab – City of Stockholm´s IT-infrastructure company
Stokab is owned by the City of Stockholm and lays the foundation for IT use in Stockholm by providing a passive fibre-optic communications network in the region. The company has been tasked with expanding, maintaining and leasing connections to this network. Our operations are intended to promote optimal conditions for IT development and, thereby, the positive development of the region. The network is open for all players on equal terms and Stokab is obliged to lease to all stakeholders who wish to gain access.

Stokab was formed in 1994 to develop a competition-neutral infrastructure able to meet future communications needs, stimulate competition, promote diversity, offer freedom of choice and minimise the need for excavation on city streets.

Stockholm IT Region
Stockholm IT Region is a collaborative project run by a number of public and private groups aimed at further strengthening the competitiveness of the ICT industry in Stockholm region. Stockholm IT Region is supported by IBM, Microsoft, City of Stockholm, Intel, Stockholm Business Region Development, Swedish IT and Telecom Industries, Kista Science City, Tieto, Stokab, County Administrative Board of Stockholm and Stockholm County Council.
